Shadow Puppet Play
These workshops use the basis of the Wayang Kulit shadow puppets from Java, Indonesia as a basis to design and make puppets that could form part of a story.
Characters
The workshops introduce participants to ideas of character development and identity as well as traditional forms of shadow puppetry. Participants devise their own characters and then bring them to life using a prepared shadow theatre.
The stories could be based on traditional stories, folktales, events such as Halloween or on issue based topics.
Why not try…
These sessions could be combined with either the Gamelan music, music composition or batik workshops to create a piece for performance.
